.KEY MESSAGES...

* Temperatures will continue to gradually increase each day through
  Monday. Low confidence in temperatures after Monday.

* Moisture will slowly push into the region next week, resulting in
  increased chances for isolated afternoon showers and
  thunderstorms, mainly in Mohave County.

.DISCUSSION...through next Friday.

Temperatures will continue to trend slightly warmer each day as
high pressure builds across the region. Afternoon highs today will
top out a degree or two above normal, with temperatures trending
increasingly warm through early next week when they are expected
to peak. While temperatures will be above normal, heat risk remain
predominantly in the moderate category, with some patchy major
heat risk Monday and Tuesday mainly across Mohave County. Brief
duration of the heat episode and somewhat borderline temperatures
remain a limiting factor for an Extreme Heat headline, though we
will continue to monitor trends closely. By Tuesday onward,
temperatures will begin to trend cooler thanks to a weak trough
moving shore and an influx of monsoonal moisture into Northwest
Arizona.

Speaking of moisture, the Four Corners high will begin to orient
itself more favorably for monsoonal moisture to be wrapped into
the flow early next week, which will also be complimented by an
approaching low over Southern California that will further
enhance the southerly flow. Most of the moisture at this point
looks to favor mainly northwest Arizona, though some of the
eastern Mohave Desert could see some isolated activity as well.

.AVIATION...For Harry Reid...For the 06Z Forecast Package...Winds
will generally to follow typical daily directional patterns with
southwesterly winds tonight, followed by variable winds in the
morning and southeasterly winds in the afternoon. Speeds may
approach or exceed 10 knots for brief periods of time in the
afternoon and early evening. Clear skies and VFR conditions will
prevail through TAF period. Temperatures will exceed 100F between
20Z and 03Z, peaking around 105F.

For the rest of southern Nevada, northwest Arizona and southeast
California...For the 06Z Forecast Package...For the 06Z Forecast
Package...Winds across the region will tend to favor typical daily
directional patterns. Breezy westerly winds will persist across
the western Mojave Desert including KDAG through the night.
Tomorrow afternoon, westerly to southwesterly winds increase in
some parts of the area including gusts of 15 to 20 knots along the
Colorado River and eastern Sierra, and 20 to 25 knots in the
western Mojave Desert. Clear skies and VFR conditions will prevail
through TAF period.
